Highland Rim delivers USDA Surplus commodities through the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. Commodities are distributed quarterly to each of the four counties within the HREC service delivery area.

The Highland Rim Economic Corporation contracts with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture to distribute donated food items to households residing within the agency's 4 county service area.

Program Eligibility

Eligible households are defined as those households meeting one of the following requirements:

• Fall at or below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines
• Proof of assistance programs such as food stamps, AFDC, SSI, Families First, public housing, and Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program
