USDA Commodity Program

(TEFAP)

The USDA Commodity Program provides a variety of nutritious free foods which enable low-income families to stretch their grocery dollars. HREC distributes the USDA  foods in four different locations throughout the service area. Volunteers and local agencies donate their time and effort in helping to make the USDA food available to their neighbors. The University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension agents often provide important information on how to use the commodities.
