Certified Teacher Needed

 

The accepted teacher codes are Prek-3 #403, #467, or PreK-4 #497, Early Learning and Development/PK-K #468, or Special Ed Early Childhood #465 or #459.  Teachers with the following endorsements will also be considered if willing to add on the Pre-K endorsement or meet the requirements for a waiver: 402 (K-8), 002 (K-3), 499 (K-6), 105 (K-12 sped), 461 (K-12, sped comp)

Highland Rim Economic Corporation Head Start in collaboration with the Department of Education is in need of a qualified teacher.  The classroom serves 20 children ages 3-5 on a 180 day schedule. 

Starting salary is competitive.  Benefits include 100% paid Health Insurance, $15,000 Life Insurance, Met Life tax deferred retirement with immediate vested interest (company pays $31 per month), 10 days annual leave, and 10 days sick leave, Federal Holidays, and personal planning area.  Dental Insurance is available at a modest cost.

Requirements also include:

  • Drug Testing/Background Check
  • High School Diploma or GED (a State requirement)
  • Physical/ Negative TB test
  • Three letters of recommendation with telephone numbers
  • Valid Tennessee Drivers License
  • Ability to obtain a CDL (Commercial Drivers License)
